Competition is a main staple of the global economy. This rings even more true for the global digital economy. Knowing this, Marc O’Polo knew it had to optimize its website in a highly competitive online fashion market characterized by strong cross and multi-channel initiative. They wanted to push flexibility & agility into these channels by re-launching their online shop using the Demandware platform-as-a-service e-Commerce platform. Working with a brand that symbolizes urban, casual lifestyle with a predilection towards natural materials, Valtech’s solution had to be as smooth and stylish as the Marc O’Polo line of products.
The natural materials
Valtech migrated the existing Marc O’Polo online shop to the Demandware platform and implemented a responsive web-design with optimized navigation structures. The platform is now integrated with a total of ten backend systems including SAP and Navision. After the successful launch, Valtech continues to provide in-life support to further optimize online traffic and conversion.
The freedom to be themselves
Introduced in the new design and navigation were features like gift cards, in-store availability information, product bundles and 'shop-the-look.' The new platform truly fulfills the promise of 24/7 availability as it has had no downtime at all since its launch.
Valtech’s project team has proven, through its great e-commerce experience and usage of agile methodology, that milestones even in critical project phases can still be met, although requirements changed pretty frequently
